About the practice
Practising from Kathmandu since 2014, working almost entirely on homes.
Building a home is one of the largest investments a family makes. Our role is to make the process clearer, better planned and technically sound — from the first sketch through structural detailing and construction guidance.
Nosvra started in 2014 with two engineers and a small office in Lazimpat. The work then was mostly structural drawings for houses other people had designed — and it became obvious how often a layout had been settled before anyone asked what the structure or the soil could support. Walls landed where columns needed to be. Spans were set by drawing convenience rather than by load.
So we brought design in-house. Today an architect and a structural engineer work on every project together from the first sketch. It sounds like a small organisational detail; in practice it is the reason our plans do not need to be compromised later to make the frame work.
We have completed more than 160 residential projects across nine districts, from compact urban plots in Lalitpur to sloping sites outside the valley. Nearly all of our work now comes from clients who were referred by someone we built for.
Our approach
These are not slogans on a wall. They are the four things we check ourselves against when a project gets difficult, which every project eventually does.
We work in a seismic zone. Structural decisions follow the code and our own judgement, not what would be cheapest to build.
If a plot cannot take what a client is imagining, or a budget will not stretch, we say so in the first meeting rather than the fifth.
Storage, drying space, parking, an extra bathroom for guests, a room a parent can use later. The unglamorous decisions are the ones people live with.
Every client receives a complete drawing set and structural calculations. Years later, when you extend or sell, that file still matters.

Principal Structural Engineer
M.E. Structural Engineering, NEC registered
Founded the practice in 2014 after seven years with a Kathmandu contractor. Leads structural design and reviews every set of calculations that leaves the office.
Principal Architect
B.Arch, Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk
Leads design across all residential work. Particularly interested in how compact urban plots in the valley can still get light, air and privacy.
Senior Civil Engineer
B.E. Civil, NEC registered
Runs site supervision and construction consultancy. Spends most of the week on sites across the valley rather than at a desk.
Project Consultant
B.E. Civil, MBA
The person clients speak to about timelines, estimates and municipal approvals. Coordinates submissions and keeps projects moving.
