Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu
A narrow urban plot with road access on one short edge. The plan pushes circulation to the boundary wall so every habitable room reaches the open side, and a light well carries daylight down to the ground floor.
Lakeside, Pokhara
Designed around the lake view without exposing the house to the afternoon sun. Deep verandas on two sides do most of the shading work, and the structure is kept simple to suit local construction practice.
Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur
A contemporary house organised around a small central courtyard, borrowing the spatial logic of the older Newar houses nearby. The courtyard handles ventilation, daylight and drying — and keeps the interior private on a tight street.
Bhaktapur
Built on sloping ground at the edge of the settlement. The lower floor is a self-contained rental unit with a separate entry, so the family had income from the property while the upper floors were being finished.
Sanepa, Lalitpur
A 1990s house that needed an additional floor. We assessed the existing frame, jacketed six columns and strengthened the foundation before any new load was added, then reworked the ground floor plan around the changes.
Dhapasi, Kathmandu
One plot, one structure, two independent households with a shared entrance court. The brief was equal space and equal light for both families — the plan is close to symmetrical, with the stair core doing the separating.
Baluwatar, Kathmandu
A dark, over-partitioned apartment opened up into a single living volume. Two non-structural walls came out after we confirmed the frame could take it, and built-in storage replaced the loose furniture.
Godawari, Lalitpur
A low, long house on agricultural land, kept to one floor to sit below the tree line. Load-bearing masonry with confined columns — a simpler system that suited the site, the budget and the local mason team.
